Any reason why my front page is mostly posts from a week ago, regardless of whether i set it to “Hot” or “Active”?

15km is a lot more doable. Especially if it’s flat terrain. Alternate routes are a great idea. You sound like you have it all planned out.
I would recommend standard stuff like… help them pack, everyone wants to overpack. Set reasonable expectations. Be up front (but not negative) about the things that are uncomfortable.
Most important - share your enthusiasm! Show, don’t tell, how much you like backpacking. Enthusiasm is infectious and goes a long way to someone enjoying their trip :).

Brigaded up-votes are almost as harmful as brigaded down=votes. Down-votes also keep out the trolls until a critical mass of trolls has been reached. Hopefully there are more advanced methods in the future.
The relative difficulty to sign up will be a deterrent to most people. Every other social network has you up in seconds. This needs to be streamlined.
I’m missing some o the features, hoping they will come in time.
I’m seeing hot, top, new like in Reddit (although it’s missing “best” but that was never my favourite algorithm).
At least this sets a good precedent - that what Ford did was illegal.
Considering the 22 billion in “excess” funds they’ve accumulated according to the Financial Accountability Office, it seems like they are intentionally sabotaging the public health care system. Conservatives seem to love supply and demand when it suits them, but also underfund nurses when we need more nurses. How’s that make sense?
I would rather they pay nurses properly and fund public healthcare. I can’t help but cynically interpret this as a “war chest” for a future re-election spending spree.
As someone who lives near the Allan Gardens encampment in Toronto, if you walk past it late at night you see all these flickers of light through the tent fabric - like little fireflies. It’s meth pipes. They are lighting up meth pipes.
As proof, here is a statement from the very frustrated hard-left aligned councillor in my ward about the homeless encampment. Yes many people take the help, but yes many people choose to be homeless.
