I have a file server for copy 1, an external drive with incremental backups for copy 2, and copy 3 is a physically unplugged copy in a firesafe lockbox that I update manually. I don’t use any cloud providers to back up anything.

You’ve said Eraserhead is your most spiritual film. Could you elaborate on that?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why aren't people harassing marketers?
291·2 days agoBut that’s just it. I just ignore it and move on. I will feel worse emotionally and morally if I yell at someone than if I passively move on with my life. I don’t care of they win according to their rules. I’m winning according to mine.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why aren't people harassing marketers?
85·2 days ago- I’m not that type of person. I don’t have it in me to rip someone apart that I don’t know personally.
- They aren’t personally responsible. They’re on the bottom just like us.
- The people who make the money will just continuously recycle employees because they know they can.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•When millionaires lose friends, it's often chalked up to envy. The truth is more complicated.English
18·3 days agoI’ve known only one person with money as a friend and the only reason they were tolerable was because they never brought it up. They were just very successful at what they did and made really good money doing it, but that was only a slice of the type of person they were.
Just using VirtualBox at the moment and it does the job well enough. It has its quirks, but since there are only 3 people that need to use that software, it’s plenty manageable.
Obviously video games are the problem. They didn’t invent violence until Pong came out.
Actually managed to convince my boss to run the Windows computers on Mint with a Windows 10 VM just for the compatibility stuff. All of the computers are now so much easier to maintain and teach users on. Nothing randomly jumps at you or changes locations with an update. Nothing asking for random permissions or requiring an update when opening. Pure bliss from an admin standpoint.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some common things people buy that you would never buy?
11·4 days agoI feel this. My car has a super straightforward drivetrain (2003 Miata) and pretty simple electronics that I can follow and understand.
Looking under the hood of modern cars, half the time it’s so enclosed, you just see plastic and once you get past that, it’s an intertwined rats nest of complicated components.
On top of that, modern interiors are just loaded with features I don’t need. Give me driving, climate and radio controls. I don’t need anything more.
Don’t even get me started on all the assist features. I’m driving. I’ll handle the wheel, thanks.

17·4 days agoI think there’s a couple of Bond villains with similar setups. Not sure how I feel about that, but felt it was worth mentioning.
Thanks for all the feedback! It’s been a 10-year journey to get here and I’m honestly kind of don’t believe I made some of this. Never would have thought when I started that I could make something that others enjoyed.

I’m on track to release my first ever album this year. My site has several demos already up and Deadline is fully mastered. Feel free to take a listen. I have a pretty downtempo/electronic sound. Let me know what you think!
Also, I just noticed I have a typo on that track. Woohoo!I have fixed the typo. 🥳
