You’re always welcome to block the community. I totally get the feeling.
From my point of view, it’s important to provide a place to discuss it. In many ways, the genie is out of the bottle and it’s a subject we’ll never be able to avoid completely. I wanted to provide a way for people to explore without feeling like they’re being yelled at by “AI bros”.
Yeah, you might be right. I’ve been renewing certificates for years and the first time it’s really bitten me in the butt. I’m seeing the issue on desktop too, which seems to be a hit or miss for me. I need to find some time to sit down and actually dig deeper into it.
Anddddd…it seems to be back up? I haven’t touched anything but it seems to have fixed itself. I will poke around more tonight and see if there’s something specific going on.
I found some time today to start the process. I’ll keep everyone updated as I figure out how to make this happen!
Version 0.18 had a number of breaking changes that are really poorly documented, making it hard to upgrade. I’ve tried a handful of times with little success. With the holiday break coming I’d like to revisit this again because I finally have time to look at it again. I understand your pain and it’s on my radar for the next couple of weeks. :)
Yep we should be good to go! If anyone has a problem I’ll look into it right away. I’ll keep an eye on applications to let people through asap - I might open it up and not require an application question if it makes it easier on people.
Just search for a community you’re interested in from your home instance - for example, search for [email protected] and it will show up. If it doesn’t, wait for the “No Results” text to disappear and check for it in the communities list and click the subscribe button.
I’m really interested in Pixelfed right now. I might try spinning up an instance to use at work with students - we’re currently using a cobbled-together combo of Google Photos and forms to share in progress work between classes and I think this would be so much more intuitive.
