20cm²? Maybe if they sign freely, but I think most people can fit them in 6cm² (3×2cm), with some padding, if they try.

Window managers in Linux take direct command from the display server (Xorg, Wayland, etc.) to decide where to position windows and what they should look like. Whereas “window managers” on MacOS/Windows are tricking the original window manager provided by the OS into positioning windows a certain way. I’m simplifying here, but hope that clears things up.

muix@lemmy.sdf.orgto THE POLICE PROBLEM@lemmy.world•Why do ICE/fake cops need silencers? (Los Angeles)English1·24 days agoThe voiced dental fricative, like in “this/ðis”, is usually represented by a ð, rather than a þ. Which is usually used for a voiceless dental fricative, like in “thin/þin”. Had to learn ðis as a foreigner living in Iceland, as Icelandic still uses boþ characters.

John Oliver, like Veritasium in the post’s video, is talking about the health risks of PFOS like C8 and GenX which are PFAS used in the production of other PFAS like Teflon. PFOS are able to enter the bloodstream and have proven carcinogenic effects. However, although PFOS are used in the production of Teflon, they are not found on a non-stick pan. Teflon molecules are too big and too inert to enter the bloodstream and will simply pass through the body when ingested. So scratching a non-stick pan and eating the flakes wouldn’t really do anything, I don’t think I’d have to prove that by doing it.
muix@lemmy.sdf.orgto Anticonsumption@europe.pub•We poisoned the whole planet so our eggs wouldn't stick to the pan 🙃English1·2 months agoFrom the post:
Teflon (or generally big Fluoropolymers) are not the problem. Ingesting them does nothing to you, because as long, chemically inert polymers they just pass through you from one end to the other
