Canada is an independent country, thank you.

Unfortunately Bill 14 does away with the rule that you can’t have two referendums on the same issue within five years. The Forever Canadian question that is now before the Legislature is very clear: “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?”

Boycott US•Scott Bessent warns Carney to stop 'virtue signalling' amid looming trade talksEnglish
10·17 days agoBessent is on record saying that Alberta should separate from Canada and join the United States, and the UCP government is doing its best to make that happen. The way to put a stop to this is by mobilizing. Last year we collected nearly half a million signatures for the question “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?” to be put to a referendum. The initiative was approved by Elections Alberta and it is now before the Alberta Legislature. The campaign continues. Please join us at forever-canadian.ca .

Canada•Canada in talks with Meta on return of news to Facebook as CUSMA review nears
7·17 days agoThis would be a terrible concession to a corporation that produces AI agents that drive teenagers to suicide. There are people in the government that still believe that the best way to deal with Trump and his corporate associates is to appease them. The evidence is clear that this assumption is horribly misguided.

The Forever Canadian citizens’ initiative to call a referendum on the question “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?” collected over 400,000 signatures and was approved and sent to the Speaker of the Legislature by Elections Alberta. The UCP government must call either a vote in the Legislature or a referendum on the question by law. The only way they can avoid this is by calling a general election. Albertans can and will stop this separation nonsense.
Just do it. Put something like Linux Mint on your Mac. It’ll work fine. And it’s free.

I think the time has come for the UN to expel the United States. As Secretary General Anotnio Guterres stated, as long as the US is a member of the UN, it has a legal obligation to fund those agencies. The US owes $1.5 billion in dues.

The article itself has many caveats. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to an attention-grabbing headline.
This is the part that I find interesting:
If Cisco ultimately proves its larger target, the project could anchor a domestic lithium supply chain linking Quebec mines and battery factories.
Or, you could just get up and flip the damn switch. And if you want it warmer turn up the thermostat. This is not hard.
