I’m surprised there’s no mention in this report of the possibility of electrifying and developing public transit across Canada. There is still too much emphasis on individual vehicles, which are very wasteful regardless of the energy source.

leastactionto Canada•Canadians like the idea of public service for young adults. Should it be mandatory?1·6 days agoThat’s a hard no on military conscription. As for public service tutoring kids or working in national parks, it sounds a lot like forced unpaid labour to me. You want people to work, you pay them.

That’s rich coming from Milei, who is currently being investigated for a blatant crypto scam as well as an old-school corporate bribery scandal.

Canada is exporting to the US, not the other way around. We can’t tariff our own exports.
Or are you in the US? In which case do you seriously expect the Trump administration to tariff Canadian arms exports destined for Israel?

Right, because this has always worked so well.
Rooted in Enlightenment-era thinking, liberalism positions individual political rights and equality as the foundation of a free and just society.
I think we’ve seen enough of liberalism to know this is just marketing slop. Liberalism is the belief that profit-maximizing capitalism is compatible with democracy.
As the article explains very clearly, this goes way beyond incompetence. It is most certainly deliberate.

Yes, you can register on E-day, assuming you have all the right paperwork, and you haven’t changed your name or anything. This is completely unnecessary. The UCP are aware that any hurdle you place inhibits voting to some degree. It’s voter suppression, and it’s very significant in a close election, specially in one where voter turnout is traditionally low.

This is very suspicious.51·21 days agoDreeshen emerged from his July 30 meeting with Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek pleased that she agreed with his interest in removing problematic bike lanes.
Gondek campaigned as the progressive alternative. She has done the UCP’s bidding at every turn, including approving the billion dollar boondoggle of the Flames’ arena.

SuperQ founder Muhammad Khan says the platform called Super is web-based and, similarly to ChatGPT, allows users to ask about complex real-world problems in plain English, and comes up with all possible solutions simultaneously.
“The way it does it is by combining classical computing with quantum computing, and doing all the complexity stuff under the hood,” Khan told The Canadian Press in a recent interview.
This sounds like a complete scam.

leastactionto Canada•Health advocates shocked as Carney Liberals back away from pharmacare program14·1 month agoThe Liberals only went along with a very limited pharmacare program because they NDP could topple them. They vilified the NDP more than the Conservatives in the election campaign, and now that the NDP was decimated because progressive voters wanted to make sure Poilievre didn’t get elected, the Liberals don’t need to pretend they care about pharmacare any more.
