Oh, I know how that one happened. A rooster is also called a cock, though we don’t much use that word anymore, for obvious reasons. Probably didn’t know the word and checked Google Translate or something similar.
Incidentally, Leia being adopted is public knowledge. Bail and Breha just happened to adopt an infant war orphan just after their heavily pregnant and very close friend Padme died. And said orphan met Palpatine in person multiple times, who would have been able to pick up on her Force sensitivity. At no point did anyone, even Palpatine, ever suspect the Organas were lying because they’re so nice and honest that adopting a war orphan would be extremely in-character and lying about it would be extremely out-of-character.
Really? I thought she got progressively less sympathetic, aside from the domestic abuse scene.

4·6 days agoHaving not touched a Mac in about twenty years, is there a visual indicator that the application is still running when there are no open windows? Steam, for example, displays an icon in the systray on Windows, or the equivalent on Linux DEs, to show that it’s still running even though you closed the main window. Does MacOS have an equivalent system that all its apps hook into? If it does, then that’s fine. But if it doesn’t, then that’s a serious problem.

Ultimately, the rules work fine for what they were intended to do, which is prevent one branch of government from becoming much more powerful than the other two. However, they don’t work well against an entity like the Republican Party, which deliberately subverts multiple branches simultaneously. The rules against executive power have also been weakened over time due to congress ceding power to the president, something the founders hadn’t anticipated. They were prepared for greedy bastards that wanted to hoard power, but people giving power away to reduce their own responsibilities or achieve partisan goals was something they hadn’t even heard of.
