Right. That’s why I said partly false. Perhaps, “not the whole truth” would be better working? By stating the cities vote left and leaving it at that implies they always vote left, when they don’t. All I was saying. Thanks.

They really aren’t. The labor that went into it is already paid in full, even if what the labor created earns for another 20 years, that labor won’t see another dime for it. Can’t steal what isn’t there

Final Space, nothing beats it for me. I’ll be empty and hollow until Olan releases the graphic novel they’re letting him license to finish off the story from season 3 since it was cancelled with one of the time warner mergers.

Vox Machina and Chernobyl(HBO) were close contenders though.

You’re only talking about one side of the coin. If the corps, owners, “the man”, etc. Paid living wages tips wouldn’t, in your opinion, “need” to exist. But since you aren’t able to grasp the bigger picture I think we’re done here. Have yourself a wonderful day.

They get paid. It’s in this thread multiple times from multiple people. There’s likely a special place for me in hell, I won’t argue that. But I hope you have enough self reflection to realize corporate ball suckers like yourself also have a special place down there with me. Have a great day.

I said typical, as in average or stereotype. Was more a jab/joke than anything, but you do you. Again, it’s not my responsibility to make up for shit pay. So instead of being mad at how fundamentally broken the system is, you’re mad at people who don’t tip a very specific industry/job. You’re really something. Well done.

I never implied it was “admirable”. I shouldn’t have to supplement a workers shitty pay, so I don’t. What makes a waiter/waitress more entitled to a tip over someone who stocks shelves at a grocery store or works in the fast food industry? Also I’m not American, shocking I know. If an employer isn’t going to pay their staff a proper wage in your country then that’s between the employer and employee

I think I’m in the smallest minority, but I haven’t tipped in close to a decade. When people ask me why, I answer with the question "when was the last time you tipped your grocer l, fast food window attendant or the person at the hardware store that brought out your 100lbs of lumber? " answer is always never and I say exactly.

  • There’s been privatized healthcare in Alberta for quite a while already. There’s also privatized insurance and somewhere around the 70-75% mark of health care services are ran by private firms although they abide by provincial and federal guidelines and regulations. While I don’t support privatized healthcare my confidence in socialized healthcare has been shaken the last few years. In the last 5 years there have been 7 people in my little circle of people I know personally who have went to other countries for care because they couldn’t afford to wait the 6 months to 2 year wait.

Most recently my father. Was in dire need of a hip replacement, a month maybe 2 from being in a wheelchair which would leave him unable to work as he runs a business in the oil patch in Saskatchewan. With an estimated 9 months left, we as a family decided he’s going to Mexico. We got the money together and he had a new hip 6 days later. 6 days. Yes, it costed $30,000US(45,000US for private in canada and estimated 75,000 in the states) for the hip surgery and a 2 week all inclusive for recovery before flying back home. But it was done in less than a week. Canada is ranked last place out of all the socialized healthcare countries for wait times.

Friend took his kid to the Stollery here in Edmonton a couple months ago with a broken arm, 12 hours before a doctor looked at him. I just don’t know anymore. While I don’t agree with anything this new cunt of a premier says, private existed long before her.

Oh, an important edit. The 45000$US estimate for Canada was a private clinic in Montreal, so it’s not just Alberta. Just wanted to clarify that since people generally love shitting on Alberta for… Anything.
