I feel like google cache has been gone for years. Remember when you could choose to see the cached version of almost any site that came up in your search results? I want to have nice things again.
It’s a very versatile name, though. Just think of the potential porn!
Please tell me their superhero name is Father Pissmas.
In Venice, about 40 miles (64km) to the south, Sherry Hall and her family decided to stay in their house several blocks from the ocean, despite many of their neighbors leaving amid warnings of a storm surge up to 15ft. Her husband, Tommy, prepared the property with shutters and sandbags, and she said they had generators, portable air conditioning units, and plenty of water and food to be self-sufficient.
Let me know how well the portable AC & generators work in 15ft of water, Sherry.
This looks like a cool service, but I can’t find their subscription plans/cost anywhere on the website. It looks like I have to sign up for the free trial without knowing how much I’m on the hook for if I forget to cancel in time, and that seems sus.
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you for your service!
Okay, thank you. For some reason the way it was worded was confusing.
Can someone help me understand what this is saying? Does it read strangely to anyone else?
Warming oceans are fueling stronger tropical cyclones—the costliest weather disasters in the United States. Helene’s intensity took off while passing over waters that were over 3 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than historical averages, a condition made 600 times more likely by climate change, according to Climate Central’s CSI Ocean index. Since 2017, eight Category 4 and 5 hurricanes have struck US soil—as many Cat 4 & 5 landfalls as occurred in the previous 57 years.
Is it saying that because the water temps were 3 degrees hotter than average the storm was able to rapidly intensify the way that it did? I think what’s throwing me off is the word “condition”. What specifically is the condition here?
It caused me to buy a pack and donate to the CAH pack so…worth it. Plus, they’re suing Elon Musk, which is a noble and glorious cause in the name of freedom and democracy.
The leopards were gonna come for it eventually anyway.
Translation: so when people get nothing from FEMA, they can blame it on Biden/Harris because Trump isn’t president.
They scrubbed the actual letter??? Dafuq…
Edit:
I knew this was gonna happen. I honestly wondered a few hours ago “I wonder how many times the WH has tried to call Desantis and he just didn’t take the call to be petty.”
If he’s got legit governor stuff to do when there’s a Cat 5 on the way, I get it. I live on the coast. But I knew he would pull a stunt like this just to be a dick.
Wow, this is impressive research! Thank you for taking the time to be so thorough.
I was also referencing the Nazis being big on animal welfare overall and passing laws against animal cruelty.
It’s always been ironic to me that they passed laws banning cruelty to animals, but went out of their way to find more efficient ways of murdering large groups of people. I guess it shouldn’t.
Apologies for the Wikipedia link, but the fact that some of the laws in place today in Germany came from the Nazis is so weird imo.
The current animal welfare laws in Germany were initially introduced by the Nazis.

Just like everything else he slaps his name on for a few bucks.
This man is a legend and should be treated as such.
Thank you for this breakdown!
