Years ago, I built a hackintosh. So gigabyte mobo with Intel cpu. At that point, I learned you couldn’t legally buy apple software (OS), independently of their hardware.

Apple has no interest in people screwing with their stuff, and I’ve never looked at them since. I’m an Android , Linux guy. Apple can kick rocks.

I just read an article on reddit that said she’s taking a group down to the US with her with the goal of separating from Canada/joining the US. I have genuine concerns for our country.

In the provincial election a few months ago, where I live, the Conservative party won. The vote was literally split 1/3 1/3 1/3 (Cons, NDP, Green). Cons took the seat with a 30% vote (won by 179 votes). I’m not saying strategic voting is a good thing, but the (voting) system itself needs reform so that it accurately represents the people.

I got that (smartvote) from r/Nanaimo, and apparently, the data hasn’t been updated since the election was called today. I will be as we go forward, though.

I tried one about a month ago, but I think it was shop Canadian. 2/3 of the stuff I scanned was not found. I don’t trust crowd sourced data. I’ve said a few times now I would rather have an app that identifies what is American. I’ll just stick to reading labels.

When everything started on Jan 20 and you could see what was happening in the US. Their regime dismantling the government, Musk, DOGE, and tariffs, and it was hard to believe what was happening. Then, the continued threats to Canada, it was all pretty scary.

Now, 50 something days in, I’m starting to realize they have no plan and no execution, or even no sense to what they’re doing. So sure it still feels really unstable and uneasy but less threatening.

Hopefully, the world will economically destroy Musk just on the principal of his actions. Show billionaires they are not immune.

I do think it’s possible there eventually will be a military action on Canada. I think the most plausible thing I’ve heard is that Canada would be easy to invade but nearly impossible to hold. That would be a messy situation for both sides. Nobody will be a winner, so it will come down to desire to go down that road. From what I’ve been hearing, there is only a very low percentage of people on either side of the border who have support of this action.

In the meantime, I would be happy to see Canada disconnect from America, find new trade partners, and improve our infrastructure. Seems to be what the plans are, so I think we are dealing best we can in the situation we are in.

The salt and caramel is 36g per 175ml serving. So yeah, high. I’ve been finding that with Canadian energy drinks as well. I have just switched to a zero refined sugar diet the past couple of months. I’ll probably continue to buy Chapman’s and just take it to my workplace.

I checked my bank for that recently. If you tap or use your PIN in Canada, it’s Interac. Everything else is VISA.

I have a cash back VISA card. The week after Jan 20, I pulled my card info off every online service I use, stopped using the card entirely, and a few days ago canceled it completely. It was a tough choice. I generally earned about $600 a year cash back, but it’s time to free ourselves of America and forge our own path. I don’t really see the Can/American relationship ever being repaired at this point. Time to move on.

I agree. Salt and caramel are such a good combo. There were a couple of chocolate flavors, but the only other one that caught my attention was a cold brew coffee, I believe.

I feel the same, but after reading about how they have been being a stand-up Canadian company, I will continue to buy this through our troubling times.

BTW these premium flavors are actually quite good.
