  • Disney makes and/or releases quite a lot of furry bait. Zootopia? (the) Bad Guys? Bluey? (which is so popular that it has a musical now) Also, there’s Turning Red, both Sing movies, all four Kung Fu Panda movies, all 3 Madagascar movies + the spinoff, older movies like Robin Hood, The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound, etc.

Also, weird thing that I noticed about Bluey that I need to share or else I'll go insane (nsfw)

In Zootopia and (the) Bad Guys, as well as in most blatant furry bait movies, everyone is wearing clothes. In some movies like the Madagascar movies, none of the furry bait characters wear clothes nor talk about wearing clothes in the past (because, well, no duh, they’re wild animals or zoo animals, they aren’t gonna be wearing clothes in the middle of either the wilderness or a cage in a zoo)

HOWEVER, in Bluey nobody wears clothes, in public or in private, which at first is a bit weird because they’re dogs and not wild wolves but sure, they’re dogs and dogs don’t wear clothes usually. (and also it’s not created by Disney but by a studio in Queensland, so there might be different animation standards and practices) There’s also the times where they wear hats (and one time I could find as an image on the bluey wiki (which exists for some reason) where Chilli wears a police badge, which would hurt if they didn’t have clothes), but whatever, it’s a kid’s show and that’s usually how animators show policemen and such in kid’s shows. Then, in “The Show”, they’re acting out how Chilli and Bandit first met. And they reference what they were wearing at the time. (more or less, mainly to make fun of Bandit who kinda gets screwed over throughout the episode after he tries to do something nice for his wife for her birthday, and if going out of your way to make fun of the person who wanted to make you feel special on your birthday to the point where they’re badly embarrassed & the laughing stock of the house for an hour ISN’T a dick move, I don’t know what is. It doesn’t matter he gets screwed over in pretty much every episode because this time it’s Chilli doing it for her own amusement instead of the kids doing it in a game.)

Now, feel free to call me a conspiracy theorist for this one, but the fact that they know exactly what clothes are and simply don’t wear them indicates that the entire show takes place inside of a nudist colony (or several nudist colonies, depending on how big you think the nudist colonies would be and how long the trips to relatives’ houses would be).

On a definitely totally 100% unrelated note, my search history has been murdered and browser emulators are the best thing since sliced bread.

  • Got a spinning wheel when posting that comment. This is a test to see how long that lasts. (update: forever, but it posts instantly)

To make sure that this comment isn’t useless: You could always do a diminutive of Darren (i.e. Darrie, Dara*, Darrey, etc.)

*Dara, while fitting the whole feminization thing, is actually a male name from Irish and as such is used as a masculine name in the British Isles, although most cases elsewhere are as a female name

  • The only problem is we don’t know what remnants we will have left when we finally find a good alternative, and that good alternative may turn out to be terrible in the long run.

In reality, I think that the main problem is that we’ve allowed capitalism to get to its later stages, and that we should’ve switched to an alternative long ago while it was still in its middle stages. Any way of life has problems, and the only thing that happens as it evolves is that those problems fester under the surface, eventually killing off most of the progress made because of it.

  • Indeed. And you can already see fascism becoming more and more popular in places around the world. The defining traits of fascism are so plainly visible that anyone with access to a history book can easily identify it. But fascism says that it is not fascism, but instead is the force for a better country, for a cleaner culture, for a more prosperous people, and so the followers do nothing except fight the people trying to attack it.

  • The only question is, can we get away from it?

What alternatives we do have are either worse (e.g. feudalism) or are so demonized in capitalist society any good-faith attempt at switching would be destroyed by a bunch of outsiders who know nothing about it (e.g. socialism (specifically, libertarian socialism)). And even if we do succeed in getting an alternative on the internet (or anywhere, really), the most powerful beings in whatever space we do it in will attempt to destroy us. The main reason for the “containment of communism”, or the attempt to do so at least, was not “saving people” from communism but actually fear of its spread, and what a communist world would do to the powerful, capitalist countries of the west. (For the record, that actually was the cause, I’m not trying and don’t want to spread tankie propaganda like Lemmy’s devs are. We need libertarianism.) Capitalism, like most other systems, is fragile if people consider alternatives, so people have been made to not consider those alternatives, and as a result everyone is locked into this sinking ship, with many not even realizing it’s sinking before it’s far too late to do anything to stop it.
