  • Depends on your needs. Plenty of youtube videos lurking out there about switching to Linux. If you know how to install an OS then great! The biggest barriers are understanding the software you need & finding the alternatives that work on Linux. Your best bet is to just jump in & start researching.

I went with an easy pick up and use distro for gaming (Nobara). Not a power user & have been learning the quirks along the way. I’ve heard Linux Mint is easy to pick up and use.

I installed Fedora on a laptop for someone who only knows how to use a PC for work like browsing websites, printing stuff, joining zoom calls. They have had no trouble with it. However, I update it myself as I’ve read the documentation for that.

  • Alphabet (the parent company of Google) made over 100 billion dollars in NET income. For those that don’t know, net income = total revenue - total expenses.

ALL expenses are already accounted for.

I don’t think we need to care about a billion dollar company making record breaking amounts of money. Sure, YouTube is great & has brought lots of great content but the company behind it is not struggling whatsoever. Your average American is struggling to make ends meet. I’d rather use any tool the community creates to make it as difficult as possible for them to take my data & give me ads. Their whole ad industry is a multi billion dollar business model. I don’t even make a six figure salary. I can’t even imagine a couple hundred thousand dollars let alone several hundred thousand, 1 million, or beyond.

  • Fighting games can be tough given the smaller community. If you are in a larger city then you might have access to a fighting game community. If not, I tend to message other players to see if they wanna play more after a ranked match. It may or may not turn into chatting but getting to play 10+ games with one person can be quite fun. If you’re willing to travel, there are large events hosted for fighting games too. Most people show up to press buttons and have fun even if they lose in the tournaments.
