Isn’t Tesla being forced to open their charging network?
To get Federal grants, yes. But it wont matter if enough manufacturers start using their plug.
Their EX30 is such a great little car. With the Tesla charging port it will be even better.
Wish it was in production already! My wife was recently in the market for a vehicle and I would have loved to check out the EX30. We ended up getting her a Chevy Bolt and she loves it. Unfortunate the US doesn’t offer more small EVs.
I am very glad you were able to get one of the Bolts before they are gone. We are in desperate need of more little EVs.
It’s a great car for the price. Her work commute is only 10 minutes and if we need to drive long distances, we take my Ioniq 5, so the slow DCFC isn’t an issue for us. Anything further than about 6 hours, we fly.
Do we think Europe will jump onboard as well?
No chance, what’s the incentive? Europe already has a unified standard, ignoring the Nissan Leaf.
Do Superchargers in Europe use CCS2?
There are still some old V2 superchargers around that support Tesla’s old proprietary, modified version of the Type 2 connector (the top part of the CCS2) that was used on older Model S/X. But even those superchargers were modified to have the standard CCS2 connector added to them.
Wow, starting to look like a landslide!
How so?
Seems like everyday more automakers are opting for the Tesla charger. If we extrapolate a couple more weeks, feels like they will all adopt it.
I know there are still many more automakers, just seems like such a change when for years it looked like CCS was going to win.
Kinda makes sense. We’re asking an ancient whale to move, and it’s clearly incapable of doing so.
Ancient whale being the car companies, and moving being making software or literally anything that rocks the boat.
