Most people seem to be giving their ranks on MVP voting citing only QBs. It’s hard to imagine that just a title over 10 years ago Brees’ 46 TDs wasn’t enough to win MVP.

I’m curious as to who the real MVP candidates are. QB production is down so I’m really gearing towards awarding it to a defensive player like Myles Garrett. I know some people have also cited CMC and Hill.

I think it’ll end up being Lamar, but for non QB I’d go CMC, Garrett, or Tyreek in that order

Christian McCaffrey is on the cusp. If he balls out in in the next 3 games (Seattle, Philly, Seattle) like he did in the beginning he’ll be right there.

Aaron Rodgers for similar reasons as to why some guy was contemplating voting Peyton Manning in 2011

I agree it shouldn’t be a QB. Let’s take a look at two of the top QBs in terms of scoring. People are saying Hurts should win it but he has been carried quite a bit by his team. Allen actually has more total Td’s this year (rushing and passing combined) than Hurts and the turnover percentage is similar. Only difference is Allen left the field 2x with leads that the defense choked away to Mac Jones and Wilson while Hurts defense did not choke. Bills should be 8-3 if the defense did their job against the Patriots and Broncos at the end while the Eagles could easily be worse if the Chiefs actually caught passes, which would have changed the whole MVP narrative. Both guys are similar but are not lighting it up.

So I think someone like Garrett should get it, as he has been huge in leading that Browns defense or Tyreek Hill

Garrett if the Browns continue to win. Hill if he gets over 2000 (especially if he can do it in 16 games). CMC is a good choice.

This narrative is only gaining traction because 1: people are tired of the MVP being auto relegated to quarterbacks and 2: the top quarterbacks this year are named Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa, and Dak Prescott.

At this rate, one of those 3 should win. A lot of people are just haters at can’t accept a new name ascending the throne.

Brees was also better than Peyton in every statistic in 09 and they still gave Peyton the MVP. It’s a media award given out by sports writers.

If these non-QBs keep their stats up and their teams keep winning:

    1. CMC, 49ers
    2. Hill, Dolphins
    3. Myles Garrett, Browns
    4. ETN, Jaguars
