When the Gordie Howe International Bridge opens in 2024, with a toll-free bicycle and pedestrian lane of its own, the Great Lakes Way will be connected to 2,237 miles of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail and nearly 17,400 miles of the Trans Canada Trail, said John Hartig, chair of the Great Lakes Way advisory group for the Community Foundation.
