Backing up a prediction I made on Reddit, that I intended to follow up on there, but won’t now. https://www.reddit.com/r/winnipegjets/comments/131jgh5/a_clearly_frustrated_rick_bowness_went_off_in_his/ji2faei/

Bowness has the worst winning percentage of any active long term coach in NHL history. He has always been the tank driver, he just doesn’t know it yet. We have a bottom three finish coming next year.

All we had this year was the “new coach bump” and when it faded, that was it. If you look at our win% since February, this is what we are looking forward to.

I’m super excited about our new prospects in the system though, including our D prospect folding chair! (see flair).

Prediction made April 2023.

While Bowness may not be the best coach in the league, he ain’t the worst either. That and the fact our previous coach made it to the Cup finals in his first season away from the Jets showed us all the biggest issues are not with the staff … they are with certain individuals in the locker room and head office.

Chevy, Scheifele and Wheels should be gone well before looking to lay any blame at Bowness’ feet.

I object, mildly. Bowness has a losing record. He owns a lot of terrible records, like worst season ever coached in NHL history. I think, at best, he can be put behind the bench of any team and be expected to give them a “new coach bump” like he did with the Stars, and initially with the Jets.

PoMo might actually be the worst coach in the league. He has the most losses as a coach in NHL history. He is like the Scotty Bowman of losses. They gave him the president’s trophy winning team and he almost messed it up. If Joel Quenville (isn’t on shitlist and) was at the helm of the Panthers, they aren’t an 8th place team squeaking in by a single point. PoMo got lucky and the absolutely dominating Panthers team from last year showed up for the playoffs this year.

Also, kids these days and their loud music. Where is my cane so I can shake it at them?!

PoMo is worse than Torts? Not imo.

And the Panthers were also given a huge boost with the Tkachuk trade. He pulled that team together like nobody’s business, and with PoMo’s hands-off-the-locker-room approach it worked out well for the team … until the collar bone/solar plexis injury sidelined him.
