It occurs to me that it would be handy if the Lemmy Explorer could be either run with or proxied through an individual instance providing a ‘Subscribe’ button and hiding by default unfederated instances and their communities.

The current “Search Explorer --> copy full comm URL --> Home instance Search for Federated Community --> Cross fingers and wait --> Try to subscribe” workflow is wanting IMO.

    I would love this integrated as well. But just so you know, on Lemmyverse.net you can click the “home” icon in the top right and set your home instance. It will then open all links in your home instance.

      Dang it! I actually knew that from previous exploration, but couldn’t find it again and thought I had dreamt it. The ‘Home’ icon threw me off.

    There were limitaitons with CORS, but it looks like there are now upstream fixes for this in Lemmy!

    I’ve re-opened this as I’d love this feature too. (at least the ability to one-click search+subscribe in my own instance)
