That doesn’t exclude the possibility that it accidentally escaped from a lab due to gain of function research, research that was funded by the United States. https://thebulletin.org/2021/05/the-origin-of-covid-did-people-or-nature-open-pandoras-box-at-wuhan/ EDIT: Also yes, the US should be transparent about what’s in their labs.
