Romano is an elite closer. It’s crazy he’s not recognized for it more often. Even Jays fans sleep on him.
When he has command he is elite, but there are games where he just keeps missing slider after slider giving up hard contact. Integral part of the team nonetheless, I would be very sad to see waluigi leave/traded!
Everyone has those games though. That’s what this article is all about. He’s been a top 20 reliever for the past 3 years. Something only he and 2 other pitchers have been able to accomplish. And he’s getting better every year.
He really doesn’t get the love he deserves - his Baseball Savant page is also filthy.
