Google has quietly deprecated the Messages and Dialer apps in AOSP, and it could have ramifications for upstart brands and custom ROM fans.

    Anyone serious and fully commited to privacy does not use cell service, they use a VoIP, which requires an app to connect to VoIP provider for calling and messaging, so Phone and Messages can not be used anyways since it’s not cell/mobile service.
