I play in two campaigns. One is a Human little person Bard of noble origins. He once caught the attention of a green dragon by mistake, and is still alive. The other is a Tiefling rogue, roaming in Barovia along with his companions.

Every party needs a sherpa. The other option means your DM basically just throws random encounters at you because the disorder is too great to plan around. :)

I’m playing as a pot leshy named Kiffer Indica. He’s the creation of another PC, Broyo, who isn’t interested in being a father even though Kiffer sees him as such. Kiffer is super naive and easily started resulting in him spending most battles casting sleep from a distance or simply turning in to a bush. He doesn’t get a class until level 2 and I’m not sure what he should be.

So this is a “trees” joke writ absurd? Not sure if you’re playing 5e or not, but Wildfire druid would be funny. You could “blaze up” haha.

So I did go with Wildfire Druid!

And we changed the name of lullaby to second hand smoke, reasoning that he would constantly be singeing himself.

We’re actually playing Pathfinder, but that’s a great idea! And yeah it’s a joke, but the character is real. The pot leshy is actually a poppy leshy.

Noa Fulu: A Tribal Lizardfolk, Rogue 3 (Thief) Totem Barbarian (X). Originally Noa Fulu was just a one shot character, based on our DM’s Lizardfolk version of Queequeg from moby-dick, but he was just too fun to play, and is currently on a proper adventure!

I play him as the party’s ranger type, the hunter guiding the group. When it comes to combat, theres a dynamic of Ambush/Entrap/Mislead as they leverage the use of beartraps, stealth, gravity with anger, and resolving tough choices with his mom’s knucklebones.

You built a ranger that isn’t a ranger, heh. But I think it’s a rather unique one. I’ve seen “barcher” bard archer builds as substitute rangers before, and of course the archery style fighter. Hell, I’ve even tinkered with an elven accuracy bladesinger archer. But Rogue/Totem is cool.

How does it play? Like, what does your action economy look like?

Utilizing high walk speed (mobile and Barbarian), with the Eagle totem/Cunning actions, it usually goes Bonus action dash to gap close.

Depending on the situation, reckless attack for the free sneak bonus, and then simply walk away to a more advantageous position.

Using second story work for verticality, Noa will throw heavy objects (Himself included), and set up traps/combat helpers for the party (Ropes, caltrops, acids/oils, crossbows, alarm strings, etc.).

Couldn’t pick a lock or pocket to save his life though!

Just shrugs at the party: “what? do rangers pick locks?”

Kronos: a delusional control wizard, self-styled master of space and time. Chronurgy 3. DM allowed one uncommon magic item, so took Wand of Web, which I spam. I have exactly one damaging spell (mind sliver cantrip). Literally a utility/control build. Chronal Shift is fun :)

Oh he is also a frog. He was trying to turn himself into his own familiar, and the spell backfired. Used slightly tweaked Grung, with DM permission.

In two campaigns currently. One character is Lan Mal’kier, an eldritch knight human. Village was destroyed by aberrations as a child, classic revenge story with a twist of strange nightmares and abilities derived from the encounter with a mind layer.

Second character is Hulgram Wrathborn, grey dwarf drunken master monk. Parents were adventurers, they dropped him off at a monastery as a child before a quest and never returned. After years of training he receives rumours related to them and goes out to find them.

I’m assuming autocorrupt turned flayer into layer. A mind layer would be a funny concept. It’s a tiny centipede-like monster that seeks out zombies and lays it’s eggs in their empty heads. Over time it grows a new brain, dezombifying the target. The target then changes from undead to merely dead and tiny centepedes hatch from the brain and the process continues. Local druids continuously debate whether this process is “natural”.

This means you’re playing your EK more like a psionic origin type backstory, eh?

The second character would be very easy to hook into as a DM – just drop rumours or alcohol as needed to keep you on the rails.

Remember to keep asking the DM for the time of day. So you don’t miss 4:20 ;)
