    Interesting that this also shows that we don’t have enough hotels, they are in the wrong location, and they are too expensive.

      Seriously. I think this is ultimately good policy but it needs to be paired with increasing our hotel supply. My poor wedding guests got hosed last year visiting from ontario, hotels are easily $600/night in the summer now. This is going to make it much worse.

        Even a shitty motel in a small town is $100+ per night.

        Want to go somewhere? I’m camping or staying with someone I know, or I cant afford it. No more visiting cities for me.

    150 units potentially going up for long-term rent in just a single building? This new law may have much more of an effect than people anticipate. Even if it only has a minor effect, I’m happy this government seems to be implementing literally every good idea out there.

      The last numbers I saw for airbnbs were huge. Anecdotally I know of 2 people who bought property as an investment and use airbnb.

      This law can’t come fast enough.
