So do we still have Chinese police working in Waterloo or did they fix that? I feel like they would have said something if they fixed that.
The fuck are you talking about?

Oh right. That.
From the report I found in one of the your links they found 3 of these stations in Toronto and nowhere else in Canada so I think you’re fine in Waterloo.
But you’re right that it’s weird we haven’t heard anything else since the initial reporting.
Apparently they were only bothering Chinese immigrants, but those people are Canadians now. China doesn’t have the authority to operate here. They need to fuck right off.
If you google eg “Montreal” and “Vancouver”, you will find accusations against specific locations there as well. The fact that nothing has been reported for Waterloo is not, in my mind, reassuring. We have a huge population of Chinese nationals (as well as Canadians of Chinese descent) in Waterloo, and very little security [or investigative journalism]. It is hard to believe there would not be agents operating full time in Waterloo, even if they don’t have a dedicated office here.
Well, I hope we haven’t heard anything because it’s an ongoing operation and not because nothing’s being done.
I presume you don’t just mean Chinese police officers, as that’s a bit racist.
I’m talking about Chinese nationals, not people of one of the many races that live in China. Surely you are aware of the stories that ran nine months ago about the secret Chinese “police stations” in major Canadian cities. (See also other comment)
