It seems like there’s been a lot more websites that have been deploying anti-adware blocker software in the past few weeks. One that stands out in particular is called Admiral (see websites like GameRant for an example).

I have tried Adguard Plus and Rethink DNS (using the instructions from FMHY), and neither can prevent the popup that stops you from reading the site. I assume there’s user scripts out there, but at this point, I don’t even know what to search for on Greasyfork.

Have any of you figured out a workaround?

If a site gets too annoying, I just leave and find something else

      This.

I use Adguard, if a site blocks me for it, then it goes on a black list of “never visit” sites.

In a few cases, if I use and like/support a specific site a lot and that site is ad supported with no other ad-free option, then I white list it.

But to read the odd crappy article? No I’m not disabling my ad blocker.

Yeah. It gets irritating but this is what you ultimately have to do, anyway, because if you stick with whatever web site filtering out its blockers, it’s just going to wind up giving you a Trojan. It’s actually the web site’s purpose in existing if it’s that aggressive in detecting a blocked. The content you download from it more than likely has malware or some other shit in it. Getting that message is a.sign to avoid that place.

Option 1: Firefox (or any firefox variant like Floorp, Waterfox or LibreWolf) + uBlock Origins, if that doesn’t work -

Option 2: avoid the sites, don’t give them traffic, and -

Option 3: if you really need to read that article, use 12ft ladder and it will probably work.

I’m using Firefox for Android with ublock origin and I’ve never encountered a single anti-adblock message.

I find visiting the site through archive.today to be a good fallback for articles. Bypasses paywalls too.

So far, DNS type blockers appear to be unaffected. I use adaway with magisk. In the other hand, I don’t generally use my browser to watch videos. I use Newpipe.

GameRant shows up fine both on my phone and my laptop, and I use Firefox with uBlock Origin on both of them. However, if you ever encounter a website with such a popup (basically similar to a paywall), just use what is usually used against paywalled websites. One is archive.today.

I’m using Magisk, LSposed and MinMinguard (2.2.0). LSPosed has the minminguard module enabled for all apps (including system) and minminguard has the whitelist mode with no app whitelisted. Works great. (And when a site starts nagging anyway, I’m out, not worth my time)

I use a Firefox based browser (Mull) and uBlock and enabled the Anti Annoyance filters. But I also still miss a few Addons i have on my Laptop.
