    For Austria-Hungary Kossuth Lajos and Aurel Popovici come to mind.

    They proposed to restructure the empire into a federation to prevent its collapse.

      Surely the danubian federation would have curtailed ethnic desires for autonomy. I mean federations worked so well in the balkans after all.

        Yeah, in my estimation a federation would have lead to a slightly less bloody breakup of AH, provided WWI didn’t break out.
