Yes, I believe drug use sites are helpful as a bandaid to this situation. However I don’t understand why safe access to drugs isn’t yet on the table.

I don’t understand why investing in families so people never turn to drugs in the first place is not on the table.

Harm prevention is better than harm reduction. So why is nobody talking about supporting families?

At this point, it is kind of mind boggling. While I’m not 100% sure it’s the ultimate answer either, why not at least try it? I mean it’s not like what we’ve tried so far is working super well.

Yes I completely agree. I think of our great marijuana legalization and the predicted depravity that was going to result. It didn’t. There aren’t stoners driving all over the roads, causing mayhem and madness. Alcohol is still the killer to beat.

The drug black market thrives while our friends and family suffer or die.

There are actually quite a lot of people driving under the influence of non-alcoholic, but it seems that actual enforcement and prevention has been dialed back over the last few years.

That said, a lot of those same people were probably driving under the influence of various drugs even before legalization/decriminalize.

It would be interesting to see numbers on how the proportion of overdoses has changed based on consumption medium: have prevention sites led to a significant reduction in overdose deaths for the mediums they permit, or is smoking just more dangerous?
