Nice thunder crackles near downtown so far at 8:30 in the morning. I was already at work typing away when it happened, but I’m guessing some folks got a startle!

I’ve been hiding in my apartment in the AC due to it. AC in the car is leaking currently, so even using that to get around is still brutal.
Hence why I’m working from home haha. I refuse to leave my A/C
There’s an amazing sappy, wet-forest smell right now as things are heating up. I’ve missed that this year; in my spring hikes it’s been too dry to get any olfactory satisfaction.
Everything lately has smelled like burnt asphalt so it’s definitely a nice treat!
I’m sure the Forrest firefighters would prefer to get the moisture without the fireworks, though.
