Tried clicking “hot” since “active” got a little stale. Saw a few interesting links, but before I could click anything, they all got pushed down by a dozen new links. Is there a way to freeze it until I refresh?

This is a bug which was already reported on their github page. I don’t have the link to the bug report on hand right now, but they’re working on it

Fyi the jerboa app doesn’t have this issue for me. I installed it out of desperation, and it’s actually very stable. You might want to consider using that until the fix comes in.

Yeah i replaced my muscle-memory RiF spot on my homesreen and it works good. My only complaint so far is all the contents so meta, I’m glad people are getting up to speed but it doesn’t replace the content itch yet 🤞.

    you’re not alone…

(someone please enrich this, but…) it looks like this is a bunch of people growing the overall community, and we’re seeing it in real time.

i was frustrated at first, but now i’m just amazed… give it a few ticks, and i’m sure it’ll be rectified. but for now, i’m just doing my best to enjoy the ride

EDIT - i keep starting with the same links when i refresh, and they’re all local. changing setting to All in settings has no effect for me yet. still a fun ride…

I don’t think we’ve figured that out yet. It keeps you on your toes for sure. Neat to see all of the activity, but it does make it tough to get the cursor to what you want to click.

It does keep you on your toes. I’ve actually seen a few response to new communities that were posted in the wrong community, assuming it was due to the page updating.

The upvotes seem a bit shaky at the moment (they undo on their own a lot). I can see the frequent loading leading to accidental upvotes when another post takes the place of what someone is trying to click.

It’s outright impossible for me now. It seems like it’d be less drag on the servers to only update on page load/refresh.

I’ve seen a couple of people mention this already, so I imagine that it’s on the list of needed QOL improvements. At least I hope it is.

Wait. ‘Hot’ sorting does an ajax-y update on new content?

I’m not getting any of that, and I admit to a little envy on it.

It does, so does ‘New’. But it makes all of the other posts jump around when you try to click on stuff. Not advised

I finally saw it – the posts went flippy-flip right under my mouse!

yes, I DO think that a ‘stop’ button (that’s ‘wwt’ for our Qc friends ;-) ) would be a very cool idea. You sold me on this one.

Could we consider begging for a slow-scroll thing too, so that when there’s X new posts, it’ll slow-scroll up/down and insert-sort them as required? It’s almost as jarring as the flippy-flips, but it’d add the one at a time at a constant rate instead of the crushing block, which may be slightly more pleasing to the eye.

… because yeah, all the other issues must be fixed so I can bring up silly chrome and polish? :-D
