    Hmm I’m torn here, a billion would be great to save and divert elsewhere. However, the CAF is running a deficit in recruitment is it not? Offering crappier wages is not the way to attract talent

    Procurement always sucks so unless they find the billion stashed in the procurement process (i.e. the process itself used to vet buy and maintain equipment not steal from on going projects) this seems short sighted and dumb and hasty

    Rereading the article it does sound like one of the first cuts is delaying procurement of new equipment… which sucks too but may be the least painful way to cut… either way I’d steer clear of the recruitment booth at the job fair for the next few years
