republicans exist to take heat for the bad things our oligarchs want pushed at any given time, both serve the same masters.

republicans crash the economy so our capitalists can buy up distressed assets on the cheap

Which AGAIN is a direct attack at the Constitution, Congress’ job is to decide how to spend money, not the Executive.

Congress will be essentially irrelevant soon. You can quote me on this. I’ll eat my shoes if it doesn’t happen.

The plan is to overturn the filibuster and pass bills that essentially pass all powers to the executive branch. The SAVE act will be a part of this but there will be more.

There is no legitimate way for the Republicans to hold the legislative branch of government. So these bills will be passed prior to the elections in November. The supreme court will twiddle its thumbs or rule in Trump’s favor in a way that makes it seem “reasonable”. Like, granting the executive branch these powers only during “war time” or something stupid.

Elections will still be held but will be heavily suppressed by ICE and voter ID laws. Democrats will still win a small majority as elections to ensure the illusion of democracy is upheld. But enough seats will be won by spoiler Democrats to make this irrelevant. They will not win majority enough to justify a “mandate” and will speak about “restoring Democracy” while many work hand in hand with Republicans. They will sit on their asses doing nothing as they grandstand on the “importance of the filibuster” and vote to reinstate it in order to cuck their own majority. They will focus more on restoring the systems that lead to fascist take over more than they will actually fighting back against fascism. (This is more speculation, I’m not sure how the Democrats will justify taking no action but they will in some way).

We’ll spend the next two years with the Democrats getting nothing more than “body camera” bills through. The Democratic party will serve to uphold the illusion of a two party system (with some good people still existing in it) and ultimately be useless in combatting fascism. With many siding with the fascist and rallying around “the flag” to support war efforts and turning a blind eye (or finger wagging) as more cities are invaded and more people, including American citizens, are deemed to be “terrorist sympathisers” and put into camps.

That’s my predictive rant. It’s what I see coming and it’s why I am working to organize to hope that I can be wrong and eat my shoes. And I’m also organizing for the scenario in which I am right.

Aaaand, if it was as simple as an executive order, one wonders why he couldn’t just pay the TSA the whole time.

Surely he didn’t just want to normalize ICE in airports before they end up at polling places.

Say what you will about Mike Johnson, but it’s impressive he’s able to say anything with Trump’s toad always in his mouth.

Remember when Obama vetoed a bill about suing governments over 9/11 and Congress overrode him and then McConnell blamed Obama when it went bad?

The DHS funding bill would strip Democrats of any leverage they have in regards to implementing safeguards around immigration enforcement.
