*Highest bribe ever for a documentary film
Clearly some fuckery is going on with ticket sales. For the last few days you could look up any theatre showing the film and very few tickets were sold. I did this myself and chuckled how in very red cities, the 9pm show maybe had 10 tickets sold last night. The afternoon shows were a ghost town.
But here it is being listed as doing 7 million so far.
I assume they’re doing the same thing they do to books. Buy up a shit ton of books and give them out for free.
The truth will be known over the next few weeks because they won’t keep buying tickets after this weekend.
If sales are flat after tonight, it’s all bullshit.
How the fuck did they place it over Zootopia 2? That movie is raking in the dough.
It isn’t that complicated.
The people this is meant for will never double check, it will be sent to their feeds and they will see it and keep scrolling.
It turns out you can just lie on the Internet. No one this is meant for will see the corrections in the siloed social Media landscape.

Thanks, but that’s yearly revenue. The claim they’re making is that it had the best opening night of any documentary in the last decade… which I still find unlikely.

Led Zeppelin had 2.6 on opening weekend so we can say 1.3 opening night.
Makes you question whether their egos are fragile enough to get their billionaire friends to buy out a few million tickets.
