It isn’t causing them to lower prices so it can’t be hurting them at all.
Part of it is the fact we have government owned liquor stores (Ontario’s public distributor is one of the largest single buyers in the world)
It’s easy for to run a boycott when the premier can make a phone call and stop new orders. You don’t have to convince 1000 different stores to change.
It’s tougher in our grocery stores, where “produced in Mexico, packaged in the US” is a lot more common.
It’s not the tariff war, it’s the annexation threats.
Trump’s tariff war is crushing American alcohol makers
Have the day you voted for.
Does anyone remember the Canada on strike episode of South Park where Canada goes on strike and basically the world acts like it is nothing…
Well it is like that, but it is the US doing it.
Too bad, so sad.
BDS for the U.S. This is low-hanging fruit, we need to boycott EVERYTHING made in the U.S. Don’t travel to the U.S. either, there is nothing in that shitstain country worth dying for.
I can’t think of any alcohol the US produces that is uniquely good and worth supporting the US for.
Beers are literally undrinkable, I’m sure there are local craft beers that are great, but the rest of the world has that too. Bourbon is just ok. Wine can be good from Nappa valley, but there’s so much excellent wine from Australia, France, Italy and Spain there’s no reason to buy American.
American mass production beer is bullshit. In canada we have a fuckload of great breweries (if you live in Quebec and Montréal especially the beer is excellent) and Canadian whisky is great. Lot 40 rye is the best damn rye I know. I even tried American fancy rye whiskies that are more expensive but not as good.
Canada only has the population of our largest state (1 of 50). Legal cannabis is killing our alcohol businesses.
Wow you guys don’t have many braincells down there eh? Weed has been legal in Canada for years this has nothing to do with that
