Here’s some interesting quotes from the local news (WCIA), who took notes:

[Defense Attorney Mark] Wykoff argued that Grayson did not go out with the purpose of committing a crime.

Wow, it’s almost like that’s the definition of second-degree murder. Good job! Where did you get your degree? Oh he used to be in the Army. That explains the authoritarianism.

Note that the defense attorney stared at the victim’s family and had to be told by the judge to address the court, not intimidate the fucking family. Scum.

Wykoff said that Grayson has no background in criminal delinquency. And, now that he is a felon, he can’t own a firearm and his badge has been taken from him.

Oh boo hoo the violent murderer can’t have a badge or a gun!

Wykoff also added that Grayson was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer back in 2023. According to Wykoff, the cancer has spread to his liver and he now has Stage 4 cancer, separate from the colon cancer.

I tried to put Donald Glover saying “Good.” But it currently refuses. That’s fine.

So you’re saying your argument that his imprisonment will cost everyone else money was clearly a lie? He should die in prison.

[The judge] added that Grayson does have a criminal history, as seen through the DUI. And, he added that although the defense argued he is unlikely to reoffend, Grayson has a temper. And, although Grayson has cancer, there is no evidence that treatment would be different in Illinois Department of Corrections vs. Community Based Sentence.

Oh weird, he has a temper? How can you tell—oh yeah he killed that lady.

Don’t worry I’m sure he’ll be back out in a couple years and working for a shitty little town as a cop.
