If you choose to walk up from the train station (and I recommend that over the taxis, the garden are lovely), those stairs to the highest points are a brutal add-on, but damn are the views worth it

This is on top of an overlook above Sintra. If you go down from here, there’s an incredible garden, an actual castle that was once the capital for the kings and other royalty of PT, and also a mansion/church that the knight templars used to pray at before battle.
All in all, highly recommend Sintra.
