I think I first heard the phrase “rules-based international order” spoken by Trudeau a few years ago, and suddenly it was everywhere. This was the same rules-based international order that killed a million people in Iraq, another million in Vietnam, a few million in Korea, and untold millions more around the world, so it wasn’t hard to determine that it was a lie. Perhaps naming it helped kill the illusion.
