It isn’t just Trump supporters. I’ve been having arguments with a friend who is most definitely NOT a Trump supporter. We’re both Canadian and she has been obsessively talking about how people are foolish for thinking Trump can invade Canada or Greenland. Her obsession makes me think she’s secretly scared too. Methinks she doth protest too much. I get that it’s scary but it isn’t going to stop being real if you deny it. Trump invading other countries is a very real possibility and various governments are taking it seriously, including Canada. Our government knows it’s a real possibility, stop being deluded and saying it isn’t. If he doesn’t attack, I think it’ll be because the international community put their foot down. I certainly see no reason to think the Untied States congress will stop him.

She keeps saying it can’t happen because of various laws that would theoretically stop it. NATO. congress. The military being required to disobey illegal orders. The american people won’t stand for it? What in the fuck does she think they’re going to do about it? Vote months after it happens? She also doesn’t believe he can stop elections.

Believing that laws will stop any of this crap at this point is delusional. Laws don’t matter if they’re not enforced. It’s tantamount to saying it’s impossible for me to be killed by a serial killer because that would be illegal. But with the serial killer, the reason they have a chance to kill me is because they haven’t been caught yet. With Trump, he’s been openly defying the laws and still isn’t being stopped.

I think it’s denial. Also, my friend and I are both autistic and I think that makes it extra distressing for us when rules aren’t followed

It really shouldn’t even matter at this point, legality became word games ages ago. Jan 6 was just a testing of a “novel legal theory”.

He does not care the slightest about legality. If push comes to shove, either congress, senate, or supreme court will be called to heel.

Just like anything Hitler did: it was all “legal”, including the killings of millions and waging war across Europe.

he’s trying to invade the same way he invaded the US… through politics. refer to pp (poliviere)… that is how he will get into Canada.

notice how donald ramps up his verbal nonsense against Canada, and suddenly pp articles start popping up, pushing rhetoric about how bad Canada is again etc etc…

pp is the pawn that will be used to invade Canada’s laws and and charter and render them useless.

I’m almost more afraid of that. There are Canadians who WANT Trump to invade. I fear Canada’s government becoming politically aligned with Trump. I was really afraid there’d be an election at Christmas time and the conservatives would win because people wouldn’t bother to vote. I’m uncomfortable with hiw close conservatives were to winning last election. At least my friend who is in denial seems to realize it would be bad if Trump took over Canada. Some Canadians think it would be good if we became part of the Untied States

Trump will have a very hard time stopping elections. There’s 50 of them, and even Republicans want them to happen otherwise they’d be out of a job. The U.S. is very uniquely safe in its elections.
