Some of the oldest gay fiction you can find are the greek Sappho and teh Roman poet, Catullus. Giovanni Boccaccio in the middle ages had this great ittle gay comedy called The Tale of Pietro di Vinciolo. He is actually quite funny, and he is almost modern in his view of sex. And you should also know that in the middles ages, there were judges in islamic Turkey that collected gay art and published them. They dont have that tradition of repression you find elsewhere in the islamic world. Of course these days modern politics have taken over. But in Turkish history there are several prominent gay writers.
