Reports indicate that the Arakan Army (AA) implemented synchronized assaults on the Dhanyawaddy Navy base, which is the largest naval installation located along the Rakhine coast, and Police Battalion 32, the main defense base for the junta on the ground, employing drones and heavy artillery.

Arakan Army (AA) is the ethnic guerilla group that currently controls most of the state of Arakan. The few remaining locations still controlled by the junta are Kyaukphyu where naval base is located, and the largest city in the state, Sittwe.
