    Moral of the story:

Get off your ass and actually shop in local mom-and-pop grocery stores, for the best prices.

Maybe if you’re comparing directly to the inflated Instacart prices, and not the actual in-store prices.

They are taking the value they give society and squeezing it so much that it becomes a negative.

They underpay their workers and overcharge their customers becoming something much different that just grocery store operating at established margins.

The white elephant in the room is unabashed greed and it is a huge issue in our society. We have to stop this classism and worship of money if we ever hope to fix our multitude of problems.

They’re using Instacart. So don’t use instacart. Instead, go into the physical grocery store, note what the price tags in the physical grocery aisles say, then compare that to what people were actually charged at the register. That would be far more interesting.

They’re removing price tags from a lot of stores so that they can change prices on the fly. You have no idea what things cost anymore.

I also don’t doubt for a moment that we’re headed toward in-store facial recognition and demographic specific pricing.
