Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Americanisation of our society, where people know more about the Constitution of the United States than they do about the Canadian Constitution.

The funny thing is that this wouldn’t be a free speech issue in the US either. The WestJet union isn’t the government.

…and even if it were the USA government, they don’t need to provide you with the PA for you to have your rights.

That doesn’t seem to matter to the right wing snowflakes.

Any time someone tells then to STFU, they always try to claim their freedom of speech is being violated.

They either don’t know or don’t care what that term actually means.

Your free speech rights don’t apply to making political speeches on WestJet airplains you tool.

He’s flying high … high on freedom

None of what these right wing tools have to say needs to make any sense. Ever. They run on faith, belief and fantasies, and they can change anytime, anyhow, anywhere.

It’s the same as Christian religion … it’s an evolving idea where you cherry pick the good parts, mash it together, create a catch phrase and talk with authority … and the people will follow you long enough for them not to realize before it’s all too late.

What a load of shit. He’s even starting to sound like Trump.

Unfortunately he’s not wrong, I’m a union construction worker and my coworkers love him. But really they’d love anyone flying the Conservative banner.

It’s utterly insane how all it takes to get somebody to vote against their self-interests is to rile them up and tell them what they want to hear. Poilievre’s program has literally nothing to offer to your average middle-class Joe. Literally nothing. His whole platform is populist BS and your usual rich-get-richer conservative policies.

Your average blue collar worker is the high school jock/bully that never amounted to anything else in life. They just want to be told it’s ok to call people gay slurs, hate anything to do with trans people, and look funny at anyone whose skin color is different than their own even if they deny that in public.

Oh and any conflict should be resolved with violence of course

That’s disappointing to hear. Anyone in a union should be aware that Conservatives are the enemy of the working class and will do anything to keep workers wages/rights suppressed.

You’re not entirely wrong. They will fight for workers as long as they work for the companies run by their friends, like SNC Lavalin.

Don’t forget NDP exists as an option.

Most people are some combination of Ignorant and apathetic, so a politician (of any stripe) usually has more luck saying something snappy and quotable rather than making some long thoughtful nuanced remark.
