They enter the AL side of the playoffs bracket with the #1 spot, giving them a bye as well as the most home field advantages. The Blue Jays will face the winner of the Yankees vs Red Sox 3-game Wild Card Series (Tues - Thurs). The Blue Jays play their first 2025 playoff game Saturday, October 4th, kicking of the 5-game ALDS.

Looking back on the regular season, what stands out to you? Who would you rather face in the ALDS: Yankees or Red Sox? All discussion welcome (even if you’re not a Jays fan :) @9488fcea02a9@sh.itjust.works

Went to a jays game last week for the first time since the skydome renovations.

Wow. They did a great job. Everything is really clean. No more sticky movie theater floors.

    Saturday cant come soon enough

I’d rather face the Red Sox, only because it means the Yankees and their fanbase are out and suffer a little more from losing the season tiebreaker.

First time fan, and I’ve only watched the highlights, but it’s been a blast of a season to follow along!

Looking back, great season. So many players at different stages of their careers played close to the best baseball of their career. Old guys: Springer. New guys: Yesavage. No-longer prospects: Ernie Clement, Davis Schneider. The “contributions up and down the roster” aspect of this team makes me feel like this team might be successful in the post-season, maybe grab the ALCS. (World Series would be great, but NL teams are stronger than the AL ones.)

Looking ahead: I don’t think Bo, who’s still visibly limping and has yet to start running, will play in the ALDS. I think he might be back in a PH/DH role in the ALCS, if we can hold on until then. (He’s out best hitter - so a key piece.) I hope Kirk stays hot. I’m curious to see how many playoff starts we will use multiple pitchers for (ie, among the group Bassitt, Sherzer, Lauer, Yesavage, Varling), outside of the obvious Gausman and Bieber starts where we expect they go 5.0+ IP. I hope the Yankees and Bo Sox beat the crap out of each other, and the victor is highly depleted - especially in the bullpen lol. I think I’d rather face the Bo Sox - to avoid power hitters Judge and Stanton - although the Bo Sox have the better bullpen. The last championship I was a part of as a fan was the 2019 Raptors. I’ve been asking myself how much this Jays season is beginning to feel like that one :).

    Let’s go Blue Jays!!! 😝

Looking back on the regular season, what stands out to you?

Probably just how much Kirk’s offensive game has improved.

He was always an OK hitter, but this season, and especially the second half, he has been on fire.

Looking back, extending him before the start of the year seems like a great move by the FO, because his extension would be a lot higher after this year. Kirk’s fun to root for. I love his post-HR celebration with Vladdy too
