I’ve put like 120 hours into my first playthrough of BG3 and I’m just making it out of Act 1. Meanwhile there’s already people making mods for like 60 new races. Someone beat the game in 5 minutes by killing a character and stuffing her in a box. (WTF?)

Do you keep restarting or wiping on fights? There simply isn’t 120 hours of content in a single playthrough of act I.

I save scum and I’m 120 hours in the middle of Act 2. I also barely ever close the game, so that may have been what happened in this person’s case as well.

Also helps for games with lots of grinding for resources. Get to just skip that with some basic editing (which is also why I don’t watch much streaming content… why watch someone else grind for resources for hours on end?)

Gaming has always been a social event. It’s just evolved. There are plenty of games you wouldn’t play by yourself but you would play with a friend

Depends on the game. There’s some horror games I wouldn’t bother with because they’re just too much for me, but I find it funny as hell to watch other people play and get scared by them. Then there’s group games like Among Us. I hate playing it, but it’s great watching other people get salty over it.

I watch streamers playing what I play because I learn all sorts of quality-of-life tricks without looking up a YouTube video that gives me TOO much info, ya know? I try to treat games like pre-wiki era so that all the enjoyment isn’t sucked out of looking every tidbit up to figure things out.

I like playing more than watching, but I know a lot of what I do when playing would not be fun to watch.

It took me a while to figure out why people watch sports but then realized that

That’s exactly what I do with games. Watch instead of play

I find myself only ever watching things like the water temple on zelda. Seemingly impossible feats to conquer, yet my buddy thinks im insane for paying 70 to play a game when he can watch it for free on YouTube.
