Everyone with at least half a brain knew that based upon the policies he was asserting (tariffs, tax cuts for the rich, etc., etc), and his penchant for corruption, that he was absolutely going to trigger higher prices. Nonetheless, his cult adamantly refused to believe it, and dismissed every reasonable point made about how he was going to make things worse. Now, as things play out exactly as anticipated, his cult just makes up excuses. FWIW, we’re only at the very beginning of this debacle, and things are going to get much, much worse.
