        Well if the mobile gaming market wasnt so awful we might see ads for half decent games that aren’t just gonna spam u with IAP ads

    I’m still amazed people use the Google Play store as a discovery mechanism. I only open it when I need to install something specific

      You’re in a bubble. ~99% of the population is not on reddit/lemmy or other android communities where they could discover new apps. They find out about new apps from friends, from news articles, or through the Play Store.

        You’ve kind of argued against yourself there, we techies get our recommendation from news articles and friends too (you could consider Reddit/Lemmy as a sort of combo of the two), so if everyone’s doing that then you still don’t need the play store recommending you stuff!
