This is gonna turn out fi-i-i-ine, no problem.
This will totally end well, and without any unforseen consequences.
Yeah? Why would it not?

We can talk about this.
We can talk about this.
I’ve already got enough dystopian sci-fi coming about right now, do we really need to add Gattaca to the list?
I just want a chance at some cool mutant powers before the air becomes unbreathable due to unchecked forest fires and rampant airborne diseases. Whatever gets us to mutation quicker!
can’t wait for new storage options

and to Wellcome Trust message https://wellcome.org/news/new-project-pioneer-principles-human-genome-synthesisThe team of researchers hope to provide proof of concept for large genome synthesis by creating a fully synthetic human chromosome, which makes up approximately 2% of our total DNA. Initially, the team hope to establish methods where small changes are made to the sequence of a chromosome with minimal onward effect on the proteins that it produces.
and this
Over the next five years, the team will undertake a transdisciplinary and transcultural investigation into the socio-ethical, economic, and policy implications of synthesising human genomes. The project places particular emphasis on fostering inclusivity within and across nation-states, while engaging emerging public–private partnerships and new interest groups.
You need more than synthetic chromosomes to build artificial people. In fact, you don’t even need synthetic chromosomes at all. They really have nothing to do with each other.
Kind of assumed they’d already done this, otherwise what is Zuckerberg?
