Canon A-1 | 50mm f/1.8 | Fuji 400
I may have been a bit bold trying to jump straight in to nighttime photography on my very first roll of film but I think I was able to get away with it. This was shot at EV+1 which I think held the shutter open longer than I expected, causing some shake.
Does anybody know what might have caused the ghosting on this image? It doesn’t really look like a lens flair and no other photos on the roll had any light bleed or anything unusual.
Reminds me of this beautiful music video by Portugal the Man. One of my favorite to this day. It’s a great shot! The shake gives it a soft glow. The soft glow is good! At least, in my opinion.
Nice! Edit it this shot from the Crow 2 and you got your album cover.
Yeah, +1 with that film is equivalent to ISO 200. You’ll get long exposures at night. C-41 film is actually quite forgiving, you can push it to EV -1 and trade speed for grain size. Even -2 in a pinch, depending on the scene and your tolerance for high contrast / low shadow detail.
