Love costco, but do we really need 2 costcos within 10km of one another? Feels like a bit much, but more jobs and competition for the market I guess.

I have been in many Costco locations in the States and a few in Canada. I have never seen any location busier than the Windsor Costco. Literally every parking space occupied and 10-15 cars orbiting the parking lot desperately looking for spaces. When I say every space, I mean even unofficial spaces wrapped around the back of the store behind the loading dock.

My wife and I were in the area a month or so ago and I suggested we pop in to grab a hot dog. Once again, all spaces taken on this visit, but I figured a I would be quick just hitting the Snack bar and not having to dive deep into the store. Just walking in I had to inch my steps slowly one at a time past the busy card readers. Once inside the madhouse of people worked myself past all the full carts of people waiting to check out (queued back to the meat department) and went past the registers to the Snack Bar. There were at least 18 people waiting who had already paid waiting for their order. There was a line at the order kiosk 10 people deep to order. I took one look and walked out the door without buying anything.

If there is anywhere in North America that could support another Costco, its Windsor.

Damn I had no idea! Sounds like this will be great for the city then. I’m about to move to Windsor in 10 days myself and was planning on hitting up the Costco.
