Absolutely fucked that this has to be a thing.
The state has some really red counties. They’ve all voted to leave Oregon and join Idaho. I say good riddance, I hope they do.
I don’t want to hear people claiming “democrats are just as bad as republicans🤪”
It cracks me up how USAians act like there’s this huge difference between Republicans and Democrats and yet they are more or less the same thing.
there is a difference. the republicans pour tons of gasoline on everything and set it slight, the democrats sit back and roast marshmallows. sometimes they throw a glass of gasoline or water into the fire, depending on their mood that day.
Republicans burning everything and Democrats letting it burn illustrates my point better than I could have dreamt of.
Republicans will light themselves on fire to hurt someone else.
Republicans are a lot worse than dems — just take a look at Trump’s regime
….and democrats aren’t really any better.
Joe Biden being the first sitting president to join an active strike just conveniently evades your straw-man. He has taken action against large corporations and implemented safety rules.
Meanwhile Trump complains about overtime pain, enables big corporations to do what ever they want. Gave the richest Americans a sweet tax cut in his first term. He absolutely hates workers.
They’re not the same. You can criticize the democrats while avoiding the “both sides are the same angle” that gives corporations and bigots everything they want.
It’s like you listen the corporate/tankie propaganda too much. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris bad” while lacking all the nuance in the world. This sanewashes Trump.
Doing the absolute most basic shit for workers and genocide with a smile doesnt make them different.
Downplaying and focusing on only one issue. Looks like Lemmy.ml is beckoning to you.
How is saying your politicians should do better downplaying an issue?
I’ll consider it when they stop accepting campaign donations from people that also donate to Republicans.
I’d think this would be redundant with existing first amendment rights, but clearly those weren’t enough. Good for Oregon.
