Wild that that rebellion was organized by William Lyon MacKenzie but he only faced a short prison stint in the US, while two farmers that participated because they wanted democratic reforms ended up hanged for it. They ended up martyrs for democratic change and likely contributed to the eventual sovereignty of Canada 30 years later.
