    As usual, motornormative loaded language downplaying the agency of the driver. It’s never “person drives car into pedestrians;” it’s always “car hits pedestrians” as if it’s some inevitable thing that “just happens.”

      I think that it will be a legal protection thing.

      If you say that the car hit the pedestrians then that cannot be disputed.

      If you say that the driver drove into the pedestrians then you could be sued if it was later proven to be mechanical failure.

      Even if it was pretty obviously intentional you don’t want to leave that decision up to the reporter. You need to wait until you are 100% sure which would only come upon conviction.

      I saw a video of this, and he veers from one side of the street to the other, and then back again - and it looks like he’s deliberately targeting whichever side had more people at that point.

    I just wanna say that I really dislike this new trend of mowing crowds down with cars just because you’re a bigot.
