    Nah it’s 100% true. I say that as someone who’s worked in oil and gas. These companies will push a lot of propaganda like “we are a family” etc and it works.

    It works on Albertans and after years of working in oil companies they fall for the bullshit and then they see any kind of economic reform that pivots away from oil as an attack on them and their family.

    It’s extremely fucked up, not just the fact that ppl are brainwashed but the fact that companies are allowed to push this kind of rhetoric

    As an Albertan, I have nothing to say. All we have to rally around is pickup trucks, steak, and pride for not having any rats in the province (except in parliament ayooooo)

    Uniting around economic goals is much more perspective than around cultural/national/etc characteristics.
